About Us
At Kub Kao Thai & Sushi, every dish begins long before the kitchen — it begins at sunrise, when Chef Ji personally hand-selects the freshest ingredients to serve that very day.
Raised in Thailand, Chef Ji learned to cook from his grandmother the traditional way — from catching fish to climbing coconut trees for a perfect curry. These early lessons weren’t just about recipes; they were about respect for food, family, and the people you feed.
Now, with over 15 years of experience as a Thai and Sushi chef, Chef Ji brings that same dedication and heart to his restaurant in South Florida. You’ll find him in the kitchen every single day — crafting each dish with precision, care, and a deep-rooted love for what he does.
But Chef Ji doesn’t stop at the stove. He steps out from behind the line to personally greet guests, check on their meals, and make sure everyone feels at home. His goal? That every single guest leaves happy. When the rare issue arises, it genuinely affects him — because this isn’t just a restaurant to him. It’s his life’s work.
Many regulars have made Kub Kao their go-to spot. From classic Thai dishes to his own creative sushi rolls — like the Magic Ji and Daddy Love Brownie Roll — Chef Ji’s menu reflects both tradition and personal expression. As the space limits the number of Thai dishes he can prepare each day, he’s proud to showcase more of his signature sushi — each one made with the same care and attention to detail.
And of course, there’s Brownie — not just a dog, but truly part of the soul of the restaurant. For Chef Ji, Brownie is family. His presence is felt in the warmth of the space, in the smiles he brings to regulars, and in the little moments that remind us this place is built on love, not just recipes. Guests often ask about him by name, because Brownie isn’t just a furry companion — he’s part of what makes Kub Kao feel like home.
At Kub Kao, you’re not just getting a meal.
You’re experiencing the story of a chef who lives and breathes hospitality — and you’ll taste it in every bite.
“Every dish is a memory, and every meal is a chance to make someone feel at home.”
